Data Validation and Loading Module
Data Validation and Loading module includes powerful data validation functionality that enables theuser to ensure data is in the correct format before it is loaded. The validation rules are appliedautomatically when data is uploaded. Each column in a spreadsheet may have one or more validationrules applied. Data Loading module will prevent invalid data from being uploaded. The module willmaintain complete trail of historically data loading.
Calculation Engine
The Calculation Engine is a very powerful and flexible engine that is built to support different complextype calculations against a multi-dimensional data architecture. The calculation engine processes startwith the fundamental processes of aggregation and spreading by evaluating of how the various datapoints integrate into a comprehensive and complete picture of required data. In context of principalreporting, Calculation Engine is the core component that collects the data and perform aggregationsand calculations according to mapping specified in the system and deliver in the form of up loadablefor principal portal. Following three different calculation engines will be developed to aid different type of management reports:
- Calculation Engine Monthly – To perform Monthly calculations
- Calculation Engine Quarterly – To perform calculations on quarterly basis.
- Calculation Engine Yearly – To perform calculations once in a year.
The Form Interface Module
The Form Interface module will provide specialized data Input Forms that will help users fill cells more easily. It enables user to entering data, which saves a lot of time by providing a simple interface in which user can enter the data without hassling of scrolling the window and search records for editing etc. as users currently performing on MS Excel spreadsheets. Furthermore, it lets user to enter relevant data using dropdown selections and list of values which can be easily edit and delete a record and create a new record from within the data input form dialog box.
Data Marts (Departmental)
Data mart is the access layer that is used to get data out to the users. The data mart is a subset of the data warehouse that will be oriented to a specific business line or department. It is a small repository of data that is designed to serve a community of knowledge workers to perform differentanalysis and reports on ad-hoc basis using access on MS Excel.
